About Dr. Williams
2010 President of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists
Dr. Michael Williams is a board-certified orthodontist practicing in Woodstock since 1997. Dr. Williams earned his D.M.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, then completed his hospital dental residency and a three-year residency in orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While at UAB, he also completed additional classes and orthodontic research to earn a master of science degree. Dr. Williams is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the Georgia Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Williams is a past president of the Rotary Club of Woodstock and is very involved with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce. Williams Orthodontics works closely with local schools through the “Partners in Education” program to educate children about dental health and various other topics. Dr. Williams sponsors several youth athletic teams and community activities.

We offer several monthly payment options, including the Orthodontists Fee Plan and in-house interest-free financing and accept all major credit cards. What is a Board Certified Orthodontist? And why should it matter to me?
Board certification demonstrates an orthodontist's continued pursuit of proficiency in the field and excellence in the level of treatment and care.
Dentists who complete an American Dental Association accredited graduate program in the specialty of orthodontics become orthodontic specialists who are then eligible to become board certified through a voluntary examination process of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). Dentists who are practicing orthodontics are not required to pursue board certification; the process is entirely voluntary.
The certification process involves a thorough written examination covering all areas of information on which an orthodontist should be knowledgeable. Successful passage allows the orthodontist to present treated cases which will be evaluated by expert examiners of the Board during a clinical examination.
Certification is awarded for a limited time period and the orthodontist must re-examine on a periodic basis to retain the board certified status.
The ABO is the only certifying board recognized by the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. An orthodontist certified by the ABO may use this logo:
